Movie Screening

The Last Call Movie Screening for 2023 was a great success. We are excited to bring you Chapter 2 of the ‘When You Die’ movie series!

Join us for a movie screening and educational discussion of ‘Saying Goodbye: Preparing for Death,’ Chapter 2 from the When You Die movie series. This event aims to facilitate open conversations about end-of-life matters and provide valuable insights into the process of saying goodbye. Don’t worry if you missed Chapter 1, ‘In the Realm of Death and Dreaming’; Chapter 2 stands alone for your enjoyment.

We are very excited to have Julie Strassman lead the discussion after the screening of the film. Julie Strassman is a Spiritual Counselor and Bereavement Specialist with Bethesda Hospice Care. She received her Doctorate of Ministry in 2022 and wrote her doctoral dissertation on providing spiritual care to the bereaved in response to sensory experiences of continued presence (i.e. seeing, hearing, or sensing the presence of deceased loved ones). Julie has presented at numerous regional and statewide conferences and is passionate about helping hospice professionals and loved ones provide meaningful end of life care.

Addressing our mortality head on, viewers are guided through fear into honest conversation about the questions most of us avoid: How can we talk about death? What is a good death? …
As hard as it is to believe, we know, in the depths of our being, death will come – either through a diagnosis, or from a sudden accident. Don’t wait until you’re in crisis to decide how you want to be cared for.
Through stories from professionals who have spent their careers at the bedside, Saying Goodbye opens the door to good conversation about what is possible as we pass from this life.
